Mindful Taper: Bringing Mindfulness (and Joy) Back to Running

You look down at your watch and it's only mile two of a long run. Your calf feels a little twingy (did you not stretch, *again*?!). You're tired and out of breath, *already*.. Worse, you're bored and want it to be over. Mm breakfast burrito. But here you are, miles to go and it's your mind that is racing. What do you do?

We run, and some of us run a lot. But we also get bored, frustrated, and doubtful. This class will help you cultivate mindfulness and reconnect you with the beauty of joy of running.

It will include community sharing, a brief mindfulness meditation, and an opportunity to experiment with a mindful running technique (bring your shoes!). The first class will focus on how we can better pay attention to our bodies as a way to tune out the distractions and stories in our mind ("I can't do this!"). Class 2 will focus on cultivating gratitude, for our bodies, our world, and those around us bring joy back to running - even, and maybe especially, when you're training.
