Group Drop-in Meditation (in person, free)

Topic for the week: The stories we tell ourselves. There are stories that save us and stories that trap us. It’s often hard to know the difference. Let’s explore together!

Our brains have a negativity bias that lead us to focus on what’s wrong and forget the beautiful mystery that is our lives. Through pausing to quiet the mind and cultivating positive emotions we can begin to remember that the suffering in our world, while real, is not the end of the story. And doing it with friends makes it all the better.

Join a weekly group guided meditation and community sharing to support each other in inclining our minds to positive ideas like acceptance, compassion, love, joy, and gratitude.

No RSVP is required and this class is freely offered!

Location: Temperance Alley Garden, 13th Street Northwest, Washington, DC

About the venue

Temperance Alley is a pop-up garden, an outdoor classroom, and a time machine in the alley behind 1931 13th Street NW — stewarded by the U Street Neighborhood Association. Every week we host events and workshops in this parking lot turned green space, where community members share their curiosities and grow, together.
